📎Datasheet

This datasheet describes the Reshape Imaging Unit, a combined incubator-imaging system which is used to acquire data for the Reshape Microbiology Platform.

Mechanical characteristics

Weight: 25 kg

The sample trays which holds plates during imaging are 500x330x6mm in outer dimensions.

Temperature characteristics

Min. temp. absolute: 6 C

Min. temp relative to ambient: +5 C

Max temp. absolute: 40 C

Stability: +/- 1C from setpoint

Homogeneity: +/- 1C from setpoint

Power draw and electrical requirements:

Compatible with both 110V and 230V outlets

Max power draw: 150W

Max current draw @ 230V: 0.7A

Idle power consumption: <20W

A power outage will cause a running job to fail.

Imaging and camera:

Reshape has developed a proprietary camera module allowing emission filtering and pre-calibration specifically for sample imaging.

Resolution: 12 megapixel

Magnification and resolution per well:

  • 30 pixels per mm for 90mm petri dishes

  • 55 pixels per mm for 96-well-plate wells (equivalent to about 10x magnification)

File size: Up to 3 MB per image, typically 900kb

File format output

  • Images: JPEG

  • Videos: MP4

Light types:

  • Bottom Light, Top Light

Fluorescence capability:

Please be sure to discuss any fluorescence-based application with an application specialist from Reshape so we can help ensure that your application will have adequate signal and signal-to-noise

Standard filter setup optimized for GFP and RFP-like proteins

  • Long pass emission filter cut-off wavelengths:

    • 530 nm

    • 630 nm

Available excitation spectrums:

  • Blue: 467nm +/- 5nm

  • Green: 527nm +/- 5nm

Plate format compatibility

Formats

  • 90 mm Petri Dish

  • Omni Tray, and 6, 12, 24, 48, 96-well SBS formats

Number of plates

  • 15x Petri Dishes

  • 10x SBS format

Time to image at full capacity:

  • Bottom light

    • Petri dishes: <3 minutes

    • 96-well plates: <15 minutes

  • Top light/fluorescence

    • Petri dishes: <3 minutes

    • 96-well plates: <30 minutes

Connectivity and bandwidth requirements:

The connection should be able to sustain 3 Mb/s upload and download speed per unit. Measuring using an online speed test service gives the best indication.
